Our original fashion t-shirts have bold, vivid colors, and state great achievements made by its consumers (i.e. Colored Achiever, Colored Doctor, Colored Lawyer, Colored Graduate, Colored Skin is the Trend That’s In, etc.) The sole purpose behind the “Colored Project” is to intrigue the minds of young African-Americans between the ages of 15-40 about black history and remember the struggle those before us endured for our freedom. Remembering when “Colored Only” water fountains existed and having to wait in “Colored Only” waiting areas. Remembering when those who created this alternative lifestyle said we as “Colored People” would never become Voters, Doctors, and Businessmen/women with the rest of society. Today, African-Americans/minorities have and continue to achieve. Charles Franklins Inc. is now using the phrase “Colored” as a form of self empowerment.
Where does the name "Charles Franklin's Colored Project" come from?The name was driven by Mr. Charles Franklin Varner, Jr. himself as the result of his reaction when he was first introduced to the streets of NYC and DC. He started a project/ experiment to see exactly how trends work. By combining today’s achievements of people of color with a controversial word (Colored), thus the “Colored Project” was born.

Can I customize my Colored phrase?Yes you can. It’s simple! Just give us the info/achievement and we’ll hook it up for you. Send your requests to admin@charlesfranklins.com and we will send you an invoice via email…from there you can use PayPal to complete your order.
We will customize your phrase as long as it’s clean and has meaning to it (i.e. NO “colored stripper” or “colored whores”). We will not print anything foul or disrepectful. Let’s keep in mind why this project was started.
